The summer has always been the most profitable time of the year for the Town of Windsor, with tourists coming from different places to enjoy the shopping and the night life of the area, many local shops and businesses record sky-high sales as a result of the seasonal increase in people going through the town. This pattern has been affected by post 9/11 acts which prevents the tourist to enter Canada freely. Some of these acts are as follows:
Terrorism acts and their consequences on Tourism in Windsor
Western Hemisphere travel initiative (WHT1)
Intelligence reform and terrorism prevention act (IRTPA) of 2004
These acts directly translates into declining tourism in Windsor and affects the economy related to transportation, hotel industry etc.
