The Meeting with Lorenzen Engineering
Thursday March 11, 2010. The day started in quite a hopeful manner and soon turned into what was definitely the biggest breakthrough of our group thus far – the meeting with the representatives from Lorenzen Engineering. Lorenzen Engineering is the retailer for Windspire wind turbine (manufactured by Mariah Power) in the Windsor region.
The proposed meeting started at 2:30 PM in room 135 of the LeBel Building with Andrew Kingstone, Owner/Master Electrician at A.T Electrical Services and Ray Koehler, Professional Engineer at Lorenzen Engineering. Soon we were all headed to the Nature bridge/pedestrian overpass connecting the sidewalks of the Huron Church road. There they checked the electrical room and assessed the possibility of setting up the wind turbine at the top of the pedestrian bridge. They showed complete satisfaction and proposed that the project is do-able.
Now the next step would be that the company will send us a note of permission for the use of their name to be used in our next plans to put up an advertising campaign to push forward this idea in our Windsor community through the University of Windsor platform. We hope that this innovative project will help create awareness and promote education about the use of Green energy as intended. We would like to take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude to Mr. James Lorenzen, the owner of the Lorenzen Engineering for showing immense support for our project!
