Media Team: Poet’s Blox segment to air this week!

The Media Team on March 24th, did their third set of interviews for Eye On Campus. These interviews focused on the green house and window farm.

A few of the questions this time were:

What is the window farm?
How does the window farm work?
Where is the green house located?
What were some of the difficulties with the green house plans?

The media team also filmed the interior and exterior of the Echohouse and the lot. The editing for the Poet’s Blox segment is almost done! It will be ready to air in the first webisode of Eye On Campus, in the upcoming week. More details will be added as to when the webisode will air and where to view it as the week goes on.

Thanks to everyone for making the interviews possible!

Media Team & Eye On Campus Interviews – Part 1

The Media team on Thursday March 10th, did their first set of interviews for EYE ON CAMPUS. The first set of interviews were focused on the Poet’s Blox.

Some of the questions asked were:

What were the intentions for the green corridor?

What inspired the idea for the Poet’s Blox?

How is the LED screen an important part of the Poet’s Blox?

What will the space be used for when it’s done?

The Media team has been in contact with Jim Lorenzen, who donated the Windspire for the Poet’s Blox. He was unable to make it on Thursday to be interviewed. Hopefully we will be able to arrange a better time soon to do his interview.

The interviews were a great success and we look forward to the upcoming interviews with the Ecohouse!

The Poet’s Blox Opening is Near!

The media team has now transformed into a multi-faceted catalogue, media and events coordination team (with help from the fundraising team). Currently, we are working on finalizing and printing the brochure and catalogue, which will both be available at the Poet’s Blox opening.

brochure

Within the next two weeks, we will be sending out the pre-written press releases and invitations for the opening. In succession with the press releases we will also be posting current new articles on the green corridor websites (here).

The tentative date for the opening event is Thursday, November 25th from 7-10pm at the Lebel Gallery.  Details for the event are in the works, such as the catering, a slide show from our archive of pictures taken this semester, arranging tours of Poet’s Blox and various Green Corridor images to decorate the gallery space.

The catalogue is finally back on track and almost completed. The layout is complete and we are currently in the stages of editing the text and scheduling photographs of the Poet’s Blox construction. After the structure is installed, the new photos will be added to the catalogue, which will then be ready for printing!

Lastly, the media team has published a Green Corridor update about Ecohouse in the current issues of The Student Pulse, so keep an eye out!

Media Team Working Hard

Photo Stills from our Video Blog: Ecohouse Team

This past week, the Media/Catalogue team has been focusing on a number of things. First and foremost, we are working to put together an informative, photo-filled brochure of the Poet’s Blox project that will be available at the gallery reception. This brochure will be an overview of the project, highlighting the main elements of the structure such as the LED sign, wind turbine and wind meter, and the interior “eco lab”. It will also discuss the project’s significance as an art piece in the community. Along with the brochure, we are designing eye-catching posters and postcards for the reception.

Once completed, the brochure will be a “mini” version of the catalogue, acting as a reference point for when we turn our full attention to completing the catalogue. The catalogue will contain similar categories and information, only expanded.

Thirdly, we have recently been filming all of the groups in order to make a blog video for the website. Instead of reading print, visitors to the site will be able to watch a short video of groups at work and in action. The video is currently being edited and will be posted shortly.
