Playing Like Children With Shiny Toys!
Above: Our group technician playing around with claude mirrors.
We are well into the swing of things! For the next couple of weeks, our group is focusing on the accumulation of images using both claude mirrors made by Alex McKay, as well as those found in commonplace reflective surfaces.
We are trying to push the boundaries of image production past the traditional 18th century landscape by incorporating opposing ideas of beauty/decay and nature/urban concepts. We were all very excited by the idea of anthropomorphizing the urban landscape and objects within it. However we are not limiting ourselves to still images; some experimentation with video is also ongoing.
We are actively critiquing each other’s work and sharing ideas. Our end goal is the exhibition –opening at Phog Lounge on June 16th – as well as potentially printing a book of images. At the same time, we have acquired a 5 Megapixel security camera, which will be mounted in the Green Corridor next week.
Stay tuned for more updates!
