The Green Furniture group got together and decided to take the idea of green furniture into another dimension: a green gazebo. By altering the definition of ‘furniture’ as something that can only be utilized by a few, a gazebo is more inviting because it’s outside and available to everyone. We decided the best location for the gazebo would be on the vacant land at the Ecohouse. By locating it there, it would be a focal point where people can sit and enjoy all the hard work of the Wildflower Group. We decided that for this project to be ‘green’ we would need to use recycled material. We planned to make trips around town on garbage nights to collect items. We’ll also contact Waste Management for permission to collect waste from their premises. We thought that making a Facebook group would get the community involved by getting them to donate material for our project. The Facebook group would also create awareness for our project. The one thing we hoped to achieve was to create beauty/art by utilizing recycled resources. So we laid-out a plan and got to work.
Imagine this done in recycled materials...
